Tridents Turning the Tide
“Tridents Turning the Tide” is a multimedia storytelling project by Washington and Lee University (W&L) students in JOUR 299. Through journalism and strategic communication, we explore how Barbados is confronting the climate crisis—from community resilience and policy advocacy to rum production and cultural heritage—and don't forget coastal preservation and biodiversity conservation. Dive into our dispatches, documentaries and behind-the-scenes moments from the front lines of climate action.
The Barbados national flag features a trident and so does the mascot of W&L. The title of our project uses metaphor to indicate how we worked to spotlight efforts by Barbadians to raise awareness, make change and navigate the uncertainty of the climate crisis.
